Very good Good Fair Poor   Customer Reviews Author: Sam Selph    10/21/2008 Used a 50db model, PICO MACOM CA-50/550, to replace old AUGAT brand in school system. Initially had terrible cross modulation interference on 82 channel CATV system when input was +14 db, had to pad down to -4db, which got rid of most of interference and looked good on all but a few channels. Apparently needed to pad down a little more, but then would not have had enough output at this location. Specs suggested reducing to -4db in, with around 30 channels, did not give recommended input with more channels. This amp is OK for the price, but using a more expensive AUGAT or Blonder Tongue lets us have more input, and therefore a higher output, without the interference problem. Amp gets so hot you can barely hold your hand on it, (a little hotter then the AUGAT). Has heat fins, but mounting to metal would probably help as a heat sink.
